Unfortunately, we cannot breathe a sigh of relief yet. While the virus took our breath away, it also gave us a clear view of our modern and hectic lifestyle, literally. The skies over China and Europe have never been clearer than during the Corona crisis. Unfortunately, with the disappearance of the virus, pollution will resume, literally. The BioOrg Air Maintenance Plan helps arm you against returning air pollution. If that’s not a relief!
The Covid-19 will remain a breathtaking time in our lives. Unfortunately, literally for far too many people. While the virus took our breath away, it also provided a literally clear view of our modern way of life. The skies over China and Europe have never been clearer than during the Corona Crisis. Because we were all forced to park our masks, particle levels in Europe ultimately stayed below average. In other words, the skies have cleared up due to the reduction in activity in most European countries. Unfortunately, with the disappearance of the virus, pollution will grow back into the air, literally.
Air pollution is the leading environmental cause of premature death in Europe. For Belgium, the European Environment Agency attributed 10,050 premature deaths in 2013 to excessive concentrations of particles (PM 2.5). There is also a clearly proven link between air pollution and chronic diseases, two aggravating factors of viral diseases such as influenza, Covid-19 …
The Energy and Clean Air Research Center (CREA), an independent international research institute in the field of air pollution, measured nitrogen dioxide levels in early March from this year during the peak of the corona crisis in China. This level was down 38 percent from the previous year. For particulates, this percentage was only slightly less than 34 percent. In China, they are now back to the old levels.
In European cities, too, the sky cleared considerably during containment. Data from the Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service (Cams) shows that in more than 40 of the 50 European cities surveyed, nitrogen dioxide levels dropped significantly during the month of March. London and Paris were down 30%.
“Black carbon”, a mass of particles smaller than 0.5 µm which, like nitrogen dioxide, is primarily related to road traffic, was also lower during containment. According to calculations, Covid-19 measurements are responsible for a decrease of around 10 percent in PM 10 concentrations (less than 10 µm) and 2 percent for PM 2.5 concentrations (less than 2, 5 µm).
It is difficult to measure fluctuations in air quality because changing weather conditions and chemical reactions of pollutants influence the numbers. For example, due to the emissions of fertilizers at the start of the agricultural season, European airspace is often the most polluted in the spring … So attributing the air pollution only to the car or to the industry is not quite correct.
Hiding in the security of your “home” is unfortunately not an option. Pollutants invade our living space and, even more difficult, often do not come out.
BioOrg Air Maintenance Plan
It’s high time for a plan, a care plan, our air care plan. The BioOrg solution is not a long term plan, we provide an immediate solution. A mixture of 11 selected bacteria purifies the various organic pollutants from the air. Nitrogen oxide cannot convert our bacteria, and carbon black is not a breeding ground for our air purifiers, but scientific studies show that BioOrg’s air maintenance plan reduces by half the fine particles (PM 2.5 and PM 10) present in the air present in indoor environments. And for a significant reduction (up to 44%) of volatile organic compounds (VOCs).
“Hiding in the security of your ‘room’ is unfortunately not an option. Pollutants enter our living space and, even more difficult, often do not come out ”
Our air maintenance plan is simple, we plant interior forests in your living spaces, so to speak. Don’t we say that forests are the lungs of the planet? We make the most of the trees and put it in your atmosphere. We purify the air in your breathing space, everywhere. That way, BioOrg provides long-term protection against air pollution in our indoor space.
BioOrg is part of the European Respiratory Cluster Antwerp (Eu.reca), a dynamic scientific knowledge platform with our lungs as the main objective.
